For the last 20 years my family has vacationed in west central Minnesota. We found a couple great resorts and spent one week a summer hanging out together and making memories. This year we decided to change locations to help reduce travel time for some of the family. We ended up in central Wisconsin, about 10 miles from the Wisconsin Dells. The home we stayed at was named Dells Edge Retreat. It was a beautiful home and was the perfect fit for our family. It was only 9 of us this year, but we could easily have a few more.
The main floor of the home has the kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a half bath, and a very large family room. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of glasses, plates, silverware, pots and pans, serving utensils, mixing bowls, etc. The one thing they could possibly use more of would be bowls. One of the bedrooms has a closet that is stocked with extra pillows and blankets.
Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master bath has a small stall shower and a whirlpool tub. There is a large walk-in closet that actually had 2 cribs set up in it. You could use the provided air mattress in this space as well. The bedroom itself had a queen size bed and a futon. The middle bedroom had a queen size bed. The last bedroom upstairs had 2 sets of bunk beds. In between these 2 bedrooms is the bathroom (enter through either bedroom). There was a tub/shower combo in that both. In the upstairs hallway there was a large closet stocked with more towels than we could ever need.
The basement was a surprise to us. We knew the laundry room would be down there, but the rest of it had been finished off. This included another bedroom with queen size bed, half bath, and a large bar room area with a pool table.
Outside was just as wonderful as the inside. There was a sand volleyball court (which we also used for badminton). Down by the lake there was another sandy area with plenty of chairs to relax in. If you were craving S’more you’re in luck – there is a fire pit on the beach. You can also use one of the 4 provided kayaks! The deck has several tables and chairs along with umbrellas for shade during the day. I really appreciated the hammock as well! To top this all off, there is an impressive gas grill provided too!
Other perks of the house – Dish Network, free Wi-Fi, a few basic staples provided, like toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dishwasher soap, dish soap, etc., games, fireplace, A/C, and so much else. This was truly a great place for a family vacation. In fact, we have already booked again for next year!
